Jagdish Patel

JJagdish works as socially engaged artist and researcher. He was previously the Deputy Director of the anti-racist charity, the Monitoring Group 

He has shown work across the country including at the South Bank Centre, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, and the New Art Exchange in Nottingham. His work is based in communities, usually working class communities and often involves weaving historical archives into the present. He is one of the founders of the ReFramed Network, a network for Black and Asian photographers across the Midlands, and the Off Centre : Nottingham’s Independent Photography Festival 

He is currently a PhD candidate at Coventry University researching the intersections between anti-racism and socially engaged art.

Claire Rhule

Clare is a qualified Community and Youth Worker with a MSc in Public Sector Management. She has been working with and supporting marginalised and vulnerable children, young people and adults from diverse ethnic backgrounds and communities of interest for over 30 years primarily in the London boroughs of Brixton, Lewisham, Wandsworth and Hammersmith and since returning to the East Midlands in Nottingham and Derby.

Her various roles include mentoring and advocacy, campaigning, setting up and developing projects that meet identified needs and supporting the third sector through grant administration.

Mervyn Mitchell

Mervyn worked in industry for over twenty five years in the areas of Sales, Marketing and project management.

From 2008 to 2011 he worked as the community engagement officer for the New Art Exchange, Nottingham. He has produced images and photofilm that are exhibited in the UK and Abroad. He has successfully completed a MA course in Photography from De Montfort University, Leicester and is an Associate member of The Royal Photographic Society and a Photography educator.
